Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2019 – Porto Cervo

Among Porto Cervo’s foremost sailing regattas, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta has developed a reputation throughout the sailing community as a highlight of the European racing calendar. In 2019, the 12th edition of the event will see large sailing yachts gather in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, for one week of friendly competition. Separated into two classes, nine sailing yachts between 27.47m and 49.80m participated in the last edition of the event, which was organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, as usual. It was S/Y MY SONG – a 35.65m sailing yacht – and the 27.47m S/Y SAVANNAH that took the glory in 2018.

Why Participate in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta?

As well as four action-filled days of sailing, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta offers a wealth of enjoyable features to participants and their accompanying friends. From a welcome cocktail event to a formal Loro Piana Owners’ Dinner, after race drinks, a lively prize-giving ceremony, and the greatly anticipated Sunset Party to conclude the frivolities, the range of social events is invariably a key draw for attending seafarers. All competition is held in a convivial and fun atmosphere, with the enjoyment and safety of participants at the forefront of organisers’ minds. The event also supports charitable causes: in 2018, organisers participated in a beach clean-up in aid of World Oceans Day. Princess Zahra Aga Khan, President of the YCCS and One Ocean Boards of Directors, also took part in the beach clean-up.
