Asia Superyacht Rendezvous – Phuket, Thailand

As one of Asia’s largest yachting regattas, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is gaining popularity on the international stage as a highlight of the boating calendar. Offering a unique mixture of both sailing and motor yachts, the three-day superyacht regatta merges seafaring fun with laid-back social events in a convivial atmosphere. Yacht owners, yacht charterers and their guests gather in this remarkable destination on one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands, making friendships and indulging their passions for sailing.

What Kind of Yachts Take Part in the Regatta?

In 2018, the event welcomed many different types of yachts, from a luxurious motor yacht that exceeds 85m in length to a classic motor yacht from the early 1930s, as well as a number of luxury sailing yachts. Among participating vessels were the 72m Lurssen-built M/Y TITANIA; the Royal Huisman-built S/Y TWIZZLE; M/Y MAID MRIAN II, built in 1931 by Engine Shipyard; and the spectacular 85.47m M/Y SUNRAYS by Oceanco.

What’s on Offer for Participating Teams?

True to the tradition of yachting regattas, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is as much about the racing as it is about the socialising, and a busy schedule of activities populates the event’s itinerary. Held aboard one of the competing vessels, a fun-filled cocktail party launches the occasion and offers participants the opportunity to mingle ahead of the racing. Following lighthearted racing competition on day 2, ‘the challenge’ leads festivities in the evening: teams are tasked with building and racing model boats. Food and drinks accompany the fun. More sailing races and a gala dinner conclude the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous on day three.

When is the 2019 Asia Superyacht Rendezvous?

The next edition of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will take place from Friday 18th January 2019 to Sunday 20th January 2019.
