The Biscay Triangle Rally started from Torquay yesterday in gentle Westerly winds and with the promise of slightly stronger winds filling in from the North West and staying in the North for the 500nm passage across Biscay to La Coruna. On Monday evening all participants enjoyed a `Departure Dinner' at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, attended by the Chairman of the Torbay Council, Councillor Matthew Phillips and his escort Councillor Nicole Amil.
Position reports have been received at 1030am this morning (28th July) from `Kindred' (Discovery 55, Mark & Harry Phillips) at 48 deg 24N, 05 deg 26W with `Mawari' (Najad 400, Bob & Sue Dall) 7nm Northwards. Winds are expected to remain 10 to 15 kts from the North to North East and yachts are expected to arrive overnight Friday 30th July and into Saturday morning.
